'Wolves' is the story of Josh, a sixteen year-old boy from a small town in the English countryside. Living alone with his father with whom he has a complex and often confrontational relationship. His term, not ours. How did the idea for classical pride come about? What was the motivation? A Pride concert seemed a really obvious thing, and I just assumed it had been done - and many times - already.

But, it turned out, that outside the US no major orchestra, concert hall, or opera house anywhere in the world had put on a concert to celebrate Pride. Pretty much all Pride celebrations are pop music and partying which is great I also like pop music and partying , but actually classical music can be a celebration of Pride too.

Ultimately, classical music is - and has been for a very long time - part of queer culture, and it's about time we celebrated this. What are some of the highlights to look forward to this year? We see the same kind of audience development with Classical Pride too - people coming into a concert hall for the first time and discovering just how thrilling live classical music can be. Pride has become something of a vector for corporate opportunism… How have you kept it pure?

As a gay man in classical music have you encountered any barriers personally or professionally? To be honest, not really.

Lots of the top musicians today - particularly composers and conductors - for whatever reason happen to be gay men. Which piece of classic music instils the greatest sense of pride in you? I love conducting Tchaikovsky - he just writes the best tunes. Even in his lesser-known pieces, the tunes in these are better than the best by pretty much any other composer.

How can fashion and classical music intersect in the future, do you think? Classical music can be very insular. If you look at other genres - pop, hip hop, rock - or other art forms - film, TV, art - they all intersect with fashion. I have plenty of ideas. Clark the Michelin Critic?
