For many years, LGBTQ+ snowboarders faced discrimination and harassment on the slopes and in the wider snowboarding culture. They were often subjected to homophobic slurs, exclusion from social circles, and even physical violence. At Elevation Utah, the official name of the annual event, visitors are surrounded by like-minded athletes and folks who want to crush it out on the slopes and have fun dancing the night away.
